| I noticed some attempts already suggested regarding a system for measuring the prowess of our ninjas. Personally, I found them all to broad. No one is ever going to be completely happy with their ninja cuz there is not enough room for customization. I won't judge their attempts I will merely bring my proposal to the table and let you decide. Rather than bother with ranks (genin, chuunin, jouning ect...) I suggest we have ninja levels (remember, naruto was a genin when he pwned Pain's ass) and stats. There should be 8 ninja stats. 4 physical stats(PS) ( Stamina, Strength, Agility and Perception) and 4 knowledge stats(KS) ( Taijutsu, ninjutsu, Genjutsu and Kekke Genkai if you have one) (see spoiler below for detail description of each stat). | Spoiler: | | | Physical stats: * Stamina: Represents your...well...stamina. This is where you draw energy/chakra for your actions and it also represents how much damage you can take. When Stamina reaches 0 you die. This is probably the most important stat of all. * Strength: Represents your physical strength. A strong body can withstand more punishment and it can also deliver more punishment. * Agility: Represents your speed, agility, dexterity, finesse, aptitude with weapons ect... * Perception: Represents your ability to aim, observe, detect, calculate the movements of moving objects ect... In short, it represents your awareness of your surroundings as well as eye-hand coordination (which is invaluable to any ninja).
Knowledge stats: * Taijutsu: Your Taijutsu Knowledge (martial arts). It lets you use your body to its full potential. * Ninjutsu: Your Ninjutsu Knowledge (spiritual arts). The higher this value gets the better your chakra molding ability is and the stronger your ninjutsus get. * Genjutsu: Your Genjutsu Knowledge (mind arts). The higher the value the stronger your own genjutsus AND resistance to enemy genjutsus gets. * KG: Your Kekkei Genkai Knowledge. How deep you can tap into the secret powers of your inherited talents. | By training, doing missions, beating/killing enemies, hanging out with friends (just general rp), ninjas are awarded experience points. Once you gain enough EXP you gain a new level and are awarded 10 PS and 5 KS stats which you allocate any way you want. In addition to just stats a ninja can have 9 regular and 1 Prestigious skills which will further allow one to customize his ninja. You can choose to buy 10 stealth oriented skills and become the ultimate assassin or choose 5 ninjutsu and 5 tainjutsu oriented skills and become a good (but not great) taijutsu master who uses powerful ninjutsu as a trump card or tide turner. You can even choose 10 completely different skills and become a "jack of all trades but master of none". You should try to compliment your skills and jutsus with your stats though, no point in having high Strength and tai knowledge if you have ninjutsu skills and jutsus.
And speaking of jutsus, they are not limited the way skills are (Kakashi was known as the ninja who had over a 1000 jutsus). One can have as many jutsus as he can afford.
Afford? Did I just mention money? You got that right!!! Its the solution to all the problems. EVERYTHING will cost money. Buying jutsus, skills, weapons; INVENTING custom stuff, everything costs money (including creating custom clans and KGs). The more powerful and unique it is the more money it costs. And you get money buy completing missions...and by getting a weekly salary (you are a ninja dude, and that's a job just like any other).
Well what do you think so far? |

Interesting intro. A Cool story too I suppose. Not particuarly original, but nothing really is when you think about it hard enough. Nice and polite though, which is always difficult to manage in scenario's such as these, so I thank you for that curtsy.

Ah yes, I rather decent run-down of the classical Role-Playing Stat System. We have used Stat Systems before, theoretically they do provide more of a frame wherein someone can create their niche. Our previous Stat Systems haven't been as extensive as this one however, so I can applaud the effort. So far I have no strong feelings about this. It means little to me aside from some Gameplay alterations and a ability to more effectively screw with people. Once you place a value on something, it becomes easier to take it away.

Sozz Brozz. No. Just saying it right there. We don't need an unlimited amount of jutsu. I suppose I mainly disagree with this because it runs counter to my proposed Mastery System, I can't justify my disapproval any further then that.

..............Wha? People shouldn't be that bothered to type out something to earn a tech. We aren't running on a EXP system so it's easy enough to just use your average topic to deal with costs. Tell Devin to add a Word Count meter to the sidebar if people are too lazy to open up their own literature programs. I agree with the Weekly Salary. As long as you have done at least 1 Mission per month. You don't get paid if you don't do the work. What you have proposed with the money is acceptable I suppose, again I don't really feel much about it aside from the slight inclination against it.

Overall a decent proposal, probably the best bit was the extensive Stat System. So yeah....aren't you a cute little unique snowflake?

| Well, unfortunately, I'm not as kind as Sept here... Y'know, you really did some hard work and normally, as long as it's good and long, I like it. ( Not an innuendo.)
But stats have never worked out. And in the end, there's just a huge gap between members all the goddamn time. If one guy has 10 strength, he knocks a tooth out of the guy with 1 strength. Or something. Members also just post for EXP and don't do any real RPing.
In the end, it'll end up like.
"Dude walked here, dude pissed here, and dude drank here."
Yeah, yeah, you said in the general rp Rules that 100 words a minimum, but still. It's easy to write 100 words of complete shit. I've written 1k of complete shit before. |

| This was just the preliminary suggestion, I made a more detailed post in the staff section. It explains the EXP and Money issue in much greater details (Look it up under Basic tutorial). | Quote: | | ..............Wha? People shouldn't be that bothered to type out something to earn a tech. |
Fine, then they can just do nothing and stock up money from their weekly salary. Doing missions is optional, and its a way to gain money much faster.
P.S. Regarding training topics (or any topic you want for EXP): They have to write around 400 words. Any less or more(?) will be frowned upon. The training topics will be evaluated based on their QUALITY, not quantity (we don't want a 10 paged essey).
P.P.S. I just layed out everything I know in the staff section. Don't expect you (the admins) to accept even a quarter of that stuff but I wrote it down all the same in case it "inspires you" to create something on your own. |

Alas, Hunter has just admitted his true alliance. We all know what team your playing for now Hunter...I suppose it explains why you never got some action...

I have to agree with you here though. I don't harbor any particular resentment against Stat's but you have made a valid point.

People can do nothing and will get no reward. People will do something and be rewarded. Simple carrot and stick. You do something for me and I'll do something for you. Quid pro quo as the Roman's would say.

I see you have misunderstood. We don't evaluate topics here. People post. People get EXP from an automatic counter. People post, Mods run it through the Word County Machine, people earn techs. Varies between Site revamps. Most of the time your only buying it with stuff you've earned for each post.

What would be nice if you could bring it down here into the Member Realm so people like me can look it over.

| You know... I'm going to instead look at a different view... really we are just taking something apart, and I want that to stop. Instead, I want to build something, so this being MY first attempt at building, instead of wreaking, give me some slack. However, I expect you all to build as well, instead of wreak. Its okay to say "no I don't like that" but we can just move on, I'm not looking for reasons or excuses right now, I'm looking for a building.
Okay... I'm going to create a topic for this... cause here is too verclemped |
